Climbing Wall Consultation Winner Announced – Monstrous Mountains!
Our Young People’s Development Group (YPDG) have taken on a huge mission: to engage with 15,000 young people across Bristol, making sure that the 224 Youth Zone is shaped by the voices of those it’s built for.
Most recently, the group have been leading on the climbing wall consultation—gathering ideas and feedback from young people across the city to decide on the final design. After collecting an impressive 1,099 votes across a range of youth clubs and schools, we’re thrilled to announce that Option 2: Monstrous Mountains, is the winning design!
This consultation took place at Youth Moves, Hartcliffe Club for Young People, Hartcliffe & Withywood Community Partnership, Merchants’ Academy, and Oasis Academy John Williams. While time constraints meant the month-long consultation couldn’t reach every school, we’ll be expanding our engagement work in future consultations—so keep your eyes peeled for more chances to have your say.

At 224, we believe young people shouldn’t just be consulted after decisions are made, they should be at the heart of them. Their creativity, insight and lived experience are helping shape a Youth Zone that truly belongs to them.
This is just the beginning. More consultations and exciting opportunities to get involved are on the way!
