224 Youth Zone will be open to young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 for those with additional needs, seven days a week for just 50p per visit.
Whether you want to start a band, play football, learn to cook, develop your drama skills or simply want somewhere to hang out and meet new friends – there is something available for everyone at 224 Youth Zone.
We will have separated sessions and times for different age groups. All of these sessions will be fully inclusive and we’ll also have a dedicated session for young people with additional needs.
Youth Voice
Youth moves believe it is important that young people are heard by decision makers and have a real say in the places where they live. We run a weekly group where young people can develop the skills and confidence they need to make this happen and support young people to to take their views and opinions forward to decision makers within the organisation, locally, city wide and nationally.
I now feel for the first time in my life that my voice is being heard, and people are listening to me. And that’s largely thanks to the Youth Opinions group
Junior Club
Our junior club will be open to members aged between 8-12.
We will have heaps of fun planned, you can make new friends, try new things, develop interests and have someone to talk to. Attending a new club can be daunting as an eight-year-old, but don’t worry we will have a welcoming, friendly and supportive team in place to help you settle in.
Senior Club
Senior Club is the best place to hang out if you’re 13-19.
The Youth Zone will play host to an unbeatable mix of sports, creative and performing arts, enterprise and chill out activities with something for everyone and for only 50p per session. With over 20 activities every session, there will also be regular theme party nights, roller discos, special events and tournaments on offer.
Inclusion
224 is proud to support and cater for young people with a range of additional needs up to the age of 25 through inclusive ability sessions alongside our mainstream offer.
Our dedicated inclusion sessions will offer all young people, regardless of ability the opportunity to access a range of activities for example boxing, trampolining, karaoke, arts and crafts, cooking, gaming and much more.
Sessions will be adapted for young people with additional needs to enable anyone to access them; including young people with a variety of different needs from mild learning difficulties to more complex needs such as visual impairment and physical disabilities.
