David went to school in Bristol and after university qualified as a Chartered Accountant. During his career he held positions in finance, general management and human resources with Price Waterhouse, Jardine Matheson and the Schindler Group.
As Treasurer, David brings his finance skills to ensure donated funds are appropriately and efficiently deployed. David also brings 15 years experience as Head of Human Resources for the Schindler Group which he will leverage to support the organisational structure of 224 as it is established and the workforce grown.
During his career, David was actively involved in initiatives related to Corporate Social Responsibility including engineering and general apprenticeships giving young people a start in their working lives as well as programmes supporting disadvantaged communities with educational opportunities. In addition to Youth Moves, David is an Independent Advisor to the Great Western Credit Union which provides loan financing to people who may struggle to secure finance from the traditional banking sector.
