In the run up to the anticipated Bristol 247 ‘Bristol Legends Event’ – 224 Youth Zone is proud to celebrate not just one Bristol Legend, but the incredible network of individuals and organisations working together to make our city a better place for young people. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do, and we are delighted to see so many familiar names recognised through the Bristol Legends Awards.
We are especially thrilled that our Chair of Trustees, Heather Frankham, has been nominated in the Business Leaders category. Heather’s leadership and vision have been central to the development of 224 Youth Zone, and her recognition alongside other inspiring business figures highlights the impact of her work in Bristol.

As part of the Bristol Play and Youth Alliance, we are also proud to see friends and partners acknowledged for their impact. Organisations such as Full Circle Project and Felix Road Adventure Playground have long provided vital spaces, support, and opportunities for children and young people across the city. It is organisations like these that ensure Bristol continues to be a place where young people can thrive. At 224 Youth Zone, we are proud to stand alongside partners in the Alliance to provide a cohesive, citywide approach that responds to the diverse needs of Bristol’s communities.
Alongside these valued partners are other well-known Bristol Legends whose work strengthens the fabric of our city. Leanne Reynolds is being recognised for leading the initiative for medical bleed kits and training across the Southwest, her work is focused on equipping communities with life-saving skills and resources, ensuring people are prepared to respond in emergencies.
Ruth Pickersgill is also being celebrated for an extraordinary career spanning nearly 50 years dedicated to equality, inclusion, and education. Originally a teacher, Ruth went on to work with organisations including Oxfam and BAND, before leading disabled people’s organisations such as Lambeth Accord, WECODP, and WECIL (one of our partners). With over 30 years of education governance experience and an MBE for services to further education and equalities, her lifelong commitment to inclusion continues to shape the city.
These are just some of the many individuals and organisations being recognised all playing their part in building a stronger, fairer Bristol.
At 224 Youth Zone, collaboration is not just a principle; it is how we operate. We know that lasting change for young people happens when charities, community groups, businesses, and civic leaders work together. Being part of the Bristol Play and Youth Alliance, alongside partners such as ACE and many others, strengthens our shared ambition to deliver joined-up, high-quality provision for young people across the city.
As we celebrate Bristol Legends, we also celebrate partnership. 224 Youth Zone is proud to be at the centre of a growing movement committed to supporting young people and investing in their futures. We look forward to continuing to work with individuals and organisations across Bristol to make 224 Youth Zone a success and to ensure that, together, we create opportunities for every young person to thrive.
