Youth Moves Cup Brings Community Together Through Football, Food, and Fun
The playing fields at The Park, Knowle FC came alive yesterday as Youth Moves hosted the Youth Moves Cup, bringing together young people, families, youth workers, partner organisations (including members of the team from The Robins Foundation), and local police for a day of football, activities, and community spirit.
At the heart of the event was a lively football match between young people from Youth Moves, joined by teammates from Hartcliffe Club for Young People to play a side made up of youth workers, local partners, and police officers. The game, played in great humour and with plenty of competitive energy, showed how sport can break down barriers and build positive relationships. Thank you to Kaiden for being the ref!
But the day offered much more than football. Families enjoyed free activities including face painting, biscuit decorating, and games. Young people were also treated to free meals, making sure no one missed out on the fun. Young Bristol’s Youth Club on Wheels added to the excitement, giving young people another space to relax, connect, and try out new activities.
The Young People’s Development Group were on hand throughout the day, engaging with their peers about the opportunities that will be available at the upcoming 224 Youth Zone. Meanwhile, Brook joined the event to promote and educate young people around sexual health and wellbeing.
Guest enjoyed music from our partners The Cause who kept the atmosphere buzzing, with some young people even getting the chance to learn new DJ skills. A special shout out went to Jason from The Cause for playing live sets and playing in the match!
It was also fantastic to welcome Youth Moves ambassador Geoff Barrow to the event, showing his support for the young people and the community.
A big thank you to the delivery team and the young people themselves, who played a key role in supporting youth workers to organise the day. There is always lots of work that goes on behind the scenes to organise these events, it was wonderful to see the whole team pull together to put on a great day!

The event once again highlighted the importance of safe spaces, youth leadership, and strong partnerships in making South Bristol a safer, more connected, and positive place for young people to thrive.
